It occurred to me that I didn't write anything about last weeks long run, on April 17th. Myself, and many of my friends and team mates, ran the mountain goat training run. While only 8 miles were planned by the organizers, some of us decided to do 9 or 10 miles. I ended up doing 9 miles, and quickly found myself at the end of the group running with a stranger from Jordan-Elbridge. The uphills lately have been tough for me, but I got through the run alright.
Yesterday was my longest mileage to date. 2 laps around Cazenovia Lake, for a total of 18.3 miles. I felt pretty good and was definitely stoked to have completed that kind of mileage. Not much else to really say about the run other than it's one of the nicest places to run, and the weather was absolutely beautiful!

TNT Week 10
This weeks run was a grueling 16 miles around Jamesville Reservoir. I think that I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that my surgery was a success. The tingling comes back in my right foot on occasion, but not NEARLY as bad as it was before, and it never lasts. During this run, all in all, I felt ok. The hills were really what did me in, but I can't say I'm not prepared for the Mountain Goat run.
This week brought a couple of great running events into my life. I signed up for my second marathon and am officially going to be part of the 35th annual Marine Corp Marathon in Washington, DC. The other thing that happened was that I was asked if I would consider becoming the coach of the fall TNT team. It's a good feeling to be asked, and an honor. It's something I'm still contemplating but leaning toward doing.

TNT Week 9
So, I know it's been a few days since the run I am posting about now, but better late than never! lol... On April 3rd we had to do our long run on our own because of the Easter holiday. Luckily, it seemed like half the team showed up to run at Green Lakes, including my usual small group of misfit runners!
This long run was 14 miles, which was actually the longest distance yet for me! I've never done anything over a half marathon before, so it was quite an accomplishment. I decided, after talking to other runners and reading The Penguin's blog, that I was going to try a walk/run approach for the rest of the season. 20 minutes running, 2 minutes walking, and so on. It worked well, but because I don't care much for trails, my last 3 miles were a little rough. But, despite the unseasonably hot day, I feel like I did well and I feel very accomplished to have done more than a half marathon.
Half way there!!!
